This Vintage 1950's Black Amethyst Murano Tutti Frutti Bowl with Multicolored Inside and Silver Flakes is in Excellent Condition! NO chips or flea bites just unique beauty. Made with what looks like black but is really a Tutti Frutti design in a rare amethyst glass. Silver foiling, abstract strokes of red, green and white. The deep purplish red color only appears when held up to direct sunlight. It measures 6 1/4" x 5" x 2 1/4". A little history: One of the things that identifies this as real Murano glass is the silver flakes. Murano glass masters are also famous for infusing their masterpieces with 24-karat gold or 925 silver. Silver and gold infusion is a special technique that is difficult to copy not to mention that quality raw materials are expensive, which makes replication hard. Also Murano glass blowers are the masters of layering the different colors of the molten glass, which technique is easily identifiable and difficult to replicate with high quality. This will be an item that will have a special place in your home due to the rarity and beauty of it.
