This is the great Justinian compilation (part of the Corpus Iuris Civilis) which, together with the Digest, Codex and Novelle, has constituted the pillar of Western legal culture for centuries.
This edition is particularly edited and enriched by numerous annotations by important jurists of the sixteenth century, including Sylvester Aldobrandini (father of Pope Clement VIII) and Francesco Cornelio, with additions that greatly increase its doctrinal and philological value.

it has trained generations of jurists from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age.
