Vintage Omega Electronic f300Hz Chronometer, reference 198.020, from the early-to-mid 1970s. Cushion-shaped case measuring approximately 40mm, gold-capped over a stainless steel back. Champagne dial signed OMEGA with the red-framed Omega logo, ELECTRONIC f300 Hz CHRONOMETER text, and SWISS MADE at the base. Applied gold-tone baton hour markers with black accents, a vertical striped band across the center of the dial framing a day/date window at the 3 o'clock position (currently showing MON 31), gold-tone hands, and a sweep seconds hand. Case back is stamped with the Omega Watch Co triangle logo, FAB SUISSE SWISS MADE, FOND ACIER INOXYDABLE, case reference 198.020, and MOVEMENT LICENSED BULOVA & PAT, reflecting the tuning fork movement built under license from Bulova's Accutron technology. Movement is signed Omega 1260 (based on the ESA/Ebauches SA 9164 tuning fork caliber), marked Unadjusted, Swiss, with a visible LR1130 battery cell and the electromagnetic coil assembly characteristic of the f300Hz "hummer" movement. Watch is fitted to a brown leather strap with a gold-tone buckle, not the original Omega bracelet. Case back and case sides show noticeable wear through the gold cap to the base metal underneath.This watch is being sold untested; running condition has not been confirmed. Gold-capped case will continue to show base metal at high-wear points; this is not a solid gold case. Tuning fork movements of this type typically require specialist servicing to restore accurate running condition.
