Jan Michielsen was a Dutch graphic artist and painter. Jan Michielsen trained at the Academy of Fine Arts Sint-Joost. He also taught there until 1980. He lived and worked at Havermarkt and in Ginneken. He received the Sint Joost medal in 1965.
Michielsen painted realistic paintings with the atmosphere of the Dutch Masters of the Golden Age, often referring to Rembrandt. His paintings included still lifes.

Jan Michielsen (1939–2010), born in the Netherlands, was a Dutch graphic artist and painter best known for his work in realist painting. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts Sint-Joost in Breda, where he also taught until 1980. Michielsen lived and worked at Havermarkt and in Ginneken throughout his career.

Michielsen's practice centered on realistic painting that evoked the atmospheric depth and tonal mastery of the Dutch Golden Age masters, with particular reference to Rembrandt.
