Description
I have bought and sold many fish platter sets because I love them! This antique hand painted set is by far the best one I have ever found! First, it is huge - 13 pieces. Second, it is truly exquisite and very rare. I did an image search and there aren't any comparisons.
The scenes are reminiscent of Greece or Portugal.
I had a set long ago that I loved, so I bought plate holders and displayed them on a wall in my kitchen/dining area. Just a suggestion for these because they are truly works of art. Another suggestion, since there are duplicates of some of the square plates, share and make them a gift to someone special.
Measurements: 12 square plates 7 1/2" x 7 1/2", platter 24" wide x 8 1/2" high
Marked C F H, G D M, Haviland Limoges C H Field. In researching the mark, I found the following:
"What does CFH GDM mean?
It is Limoges marked CFH GDM for Charles Field Haviland and Gerard, Dufraisseix & Morel in green (maker mark) and a black circular decorator mark of Charles Field Haviland. These marks date the plate to circa 1882-1891."
