An original mid-20th century watercolour on paper by the celebrated Scottish wildlife artist Ralston Gudgeon RSW (1910–1984), depicting a striking Redwing captured in mid-flight as it prepares to land on a branch. About the Artist
Ralston Gudgeon RSW (1910–1984) was one of Scotland's foremost wildlife painters, celebrated for his highly accomplished bird and animal studies, predominantly executed in watercolour.
Educated at the Glasgow School of Art, Gudgeon was awarded the Torrance Memorial Award by the Glasgow Institute in 1933. In 1936, he became the youngest artist ever elected to the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW).
His work is represented in important public collections including:

• Paisley Art Gallery
• City of Edinburgh Collection
Today, his paintings remain highly sought after by collectors of Scottish art, wildlife paintings and ornithological subjects.
