About Sir Philip Grey Egerton
Sir Philip Reginald le Belward Grey Egerton, 15th Baronet, was born on September 3, 1885, into one of England’s oldest baronetcies. A decorated military man, he served with the Royal Artillery, worked in the Sudan Civil Service, and held honorary titles including Colonel of the 521 Long Range Artillery Regiment. In 1941, he was appointed High Sheriff of Cheshire. His family legacy, including the historic Egerton baronetcy dating back to the 1600s, is deeply tied to Cheshire’s aristocratic history. Sir Philip’s life spanned both world wars, and he was succeeded by his son and heir upon his death in 1962.
