Description:This is an excellent map of Ribe (Ripen) in the southwest potion of the Danish Jutland peninsula. Ribe is Denmark's oldest city, dating to the 8th century. The town is on an island of the Ribe A River and is surrounded by countryside with farms and roads shown. The Ribe cathedral completed in 1496 is in the center of town. There is an impressive fort shown on the western edge of town. A gold gilded coat of arms and decorative cartouche are shown as well.
