This vintage Italian diamond and rock crystal ring is crafted in 18k gold and dates to the 1960s. The design features two large faceted rock crystal elements positioned on either side of a central band of round brilliant cut diamonds. The rock crystal is carved with geometric faceting that allows light to move through the stone, creating depth and contrast against the diamond set center. The diamonds are arranged in a vertical channel across the middle of the ring, forming a bright dividing line between the two crystal sections. This style reflects the bold scale and architectural influence commonly seen in mid century Italian jewelry design.
The ring is stamped 18k, Italy, and bears the Italian maker’s mark 796AL. It weighs 14.2 grams and is a size 6.5. The ring is resizable. The design measures 1/2 inch in height and 6/8 inch in width, giving the ring a substantial profile on the hand.
