A dramatic Mauboussin 18k gold and malachite pendant necklace, circa 1980s.
Designed in rich yellow gold, the necklace features two large circular pendants set with inlaid malachite panels. The intense green of the malachite, with its signature banded striations, contrasts with the sculpted gold edges framing each element.
This pendant necklace is composed of alternating oval malachite slices, bezel-set in gold, connected by textured gold floral links. Its generous length allows it to be worn as a statement piece over clothing, in keeping with the era’s maximalist trends.
