The revolver also retains matching factory assembly number 10725 on the crane, cylinder, and underside of the barrel, indicating the major fitted components have remained together since manufacture. The frame bears the desirable GHS inspection stamp of Major Gilbert H. Stewart, the U.S. Army inspector associated with World War I contract Model 1917 revolvers. The revolver retains an attractive polished blue finish that exhibits visible factory-style polishing marks consistent with early Smith & Wesson wartime production |||| CONDITION: Excellent. 98% Gloss Blue finish with machined swirls on surface. Nice CCH Finish on Hammer and Trigger. Hammer shows machined circles as well. Wood grips show signs of being sanded but overall solid. Shows some scratches near muzzle tip. Mechanically functions.
