In Imperial Germany, officers were required to buy their own sidearms, and wealthy officers frequently bought customized, commercial versions of military handguns from high-end retailers. This is a rare and not often seen premium, custom-ordered Belgian double-action officer's revolver for a wealthy German officer. Built in Belgium and Retailed by the luxury firm Geissler & Hast in Dresden, Germany. It was Manufactured between 1883 and 1893 (confirmed by the crownless ELG stamp and the M1883 design influence). Overall darkened patina finish on metal surface. Markings are visible. Wood grips are good and solid with nice framing around the checkering, shows honest wear. No lanyard loop.
