The Warner & Swasey Model of 1913 Telescopic Musket Sight was the primary sniper scope used by U.S. forces during World War I. It is a prismatic, brass and steel sight covered in a black enamel finish, weighing over two pounds and Mounted on the left side of the M1903 Springfield rifle, it offered 5.2x magnificationand featured a large range-finding dial marked up to 3,000 yards. Sight body reads "TELESCOPIC MUSKET SIGHT/MODEL OF 1913 No 5417/THE WARNER & SWASEY CO./CLEVELAND OHIO U.S.A./PAT. FEB.13-06, MAY 22-06. DEC.15-08". Comes with its original leather carrying case stamped “Diamond???/A.B.D.”. The Ruber eye cap is a bit stiff but still solid and not cracking or falling apart. The reticle is still visible with clear eyeglass and just needs a few minor specs cleaned. The top brass cover is missing its screws. Overall a very nice and original sight.
