America's longest silver dollar series was suspended in 1904, and the U.S. Mint destroyed existing hubs six years later. So the revived final 1921 date had to be recreated by the venerable U.S. Mint ChiefEngraver. It has a unique look in the series, with generally less relief. This issue was the only Denver Mint Morgan in thelong running series. Morgan dollar outputs had ceased in 1904 but when more were needed in 1921 the coin was revived. Produced at the newest minting facility of the day, Denver's 1921 Morgan carried the only Micro Dmintmark ever. Far fewer survive today in BU quality than other 1921 Morgan issues.
