Description

This Beswick porcelain figurine Alice is part of the Alice Series based on the characters from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The figure is depicted standing with her hands behind her back, wearing a traditional blue dress and a white pinafore apron accented by red trim. She features long, wavy blonde hair and stands upon a grassy mound base detailed with a small blue flower. The underside bears several black backstamps including ALICE SERIES, Alice, BESWICK MADE IN ENGLAND, and copyright ROYAL DOULTON TABLEWARE LTD. 1974. It also carries the notation REGISTRATION APPLIED FOR. This piece is recognized as Beswick model number 2476 and features hand-painted decorator initials PB in black on the underside of the base.
