Description
This refined two-strand necklace represents one of the finest expressions of the goldsmith tradition of working with organic marine materials. The star of the show is the precious Misu coral, a much-loved variety of coral.
The necklace's structure is a classic degradé (or graduated) model, where each individual bead has been carefully selected and calibrated. The design begins with delicate 5 mm beads near the clasp and gradually grows in size until reaching 10 mm at the central beads, creating a visually striking focal point. This arrangement is not only aesthetic, but also technical: the proportion of the beads allows the two strands to rest perfectly on the lines of the décolleté.
The two strands, measuring 42 cm for the upper one and 49 cm for the lower one, are designed to create a flawless "play of overlapping." The difference in length ensures that the strands remain distinct and well-spaced.
