Additional Details: Poster created by Graham Sutherland in 1964 to promote tourism on the Côte d'Azur, here in Menton. The palm trees and the blue sky perfectly represent the south of France. Graham Vivian Sutherland is a British painter, lithographer and engraver born in 1903 and died in 1980 in London. In 192, he enrolled at the School of Fine Arts in London where he was taught engraving. Upon leaving school, he taught engraving himself at the Kingston School of Fine Arts and the Chelsea School of Art. In the 1930s, he abandoned engraving and devoted himself to poster and fabric design while starting to paint.
