A soulful looking farmyard maiden carrying a water jug set in the beautiful Italian countryside by renown artist Armando Marchergiani
Excellent oil on canvas. depicts the everyday life on a farm. In the distance, the hills of Tuscany in a cubist style of work. Maiden's face shows skin tones and facial expression in excellent brushwork. Mutted color tones of browns, grays and soft greens.
Marchergiani was born in 1902 Italy. He moved to the United States when he was 23 years old. when he was commissioned to paint murals and frescoes for St Joseph Roman Catholic Cathedral in San Jose, California.
Marchergiani worked on several Mission Churches in Northern California throughout his career. Please note, a documented article about his work in the San Hose Mercury News, October 31st, 1863
