Extremely difficult to find set of seven matching blue and white transferware soup bowls in the "Canova" pattern. This pattern is known to be one of the most popular sets produced for export by the English potteries in the early to mid 19th century. This pattern was produced by multiple factories such as Thomas Mayer, George Phillips and Goodwin and Harris. The bowls have a lovely neo -classical design with a central urn in a romantic landscape and a border of alternating boats and floral bouquet cartouches.
