Vintage French hand-made Umbrella Stand. Solid brass with a natural patina. The area that hold the umbrellas or waling sticks is in the shape of serpents intertwined within each other to create 6 large rings and 6 small rings. The supporting pole is serpents winding around a tree with leaves and grapes. The bottom depicts a kind a cherub face which is very faint (see the 6th picture). The bottom dish also keeps the theme with carved vines and leaves. Beautiful detail. From the Brittany region of France.
