Post WW11 hand treated heavy rice paper that is then painted and assembled into an umbrella with a fine web of heavy thread that serves as the mechanism that allows the umbrella to open, plus all That is attached to a wood handle. I found this in an Vintage store in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles California. The original price tag paper shows on the handle.
