Vintage framed and matted signed print of Notre Dame on the Seine, Le Moulin Rouge and Le Pont Alexandre by Marius Girard. Although they are not original watercolors, the deep green and gold wood frames are rich, accented with the chartreuse matte the trio gives off chic, antique French Parisian apartment vibe.
About the Artist: Born in Rheims, France, just northeast of Paris; Marius Girard was a prominent painter in the 1950-60's. He became wealthy by doing French postcards and selling them to printing houses to be lithographed and printed in blocks of 100,000. It seems that most of his work was done with watercolors in Paris/Montemarte and that he was even commissioned to do some paintings for the lobby of the Hotel Hilton in Paris.
