Vintage pair of framed original Kin-u Takeshita flower cart woodblock prints. This set of two are first edition pieces from the 1930's series by Takeshita where flower carts from different seasons are skillfully illustrated. These sister prints are "autumn" and "spring". Each is signed on the front. They were hand carved and printed on genuine mulberry bark hand crafted Washi paper. Their frames are wooden with a glossy black paint finish. The backsides have wires so they can be hung on any wall. Together they make an excellent, vintage, colorful and dynamic display! Excellent condition with minor wear to the frames but no damages to the artwork.

About Takeshita:
Takeshita was the student of Hogai Kano. Kin-u Takeshita worked during the Meiji period. He primarily painted genre scenes, landscapes, and kacho-e, or bird-and-flower prints. In the 1950s, the publisher Uchida released prints of Takeshita's paintings.
