Description
Oil on canvas by Antonio Barone. Although he worked in oil, he was mainly a watercolorist. The influence of Chase is evident in his work. Barone died in NYC in July 1971. Fabulous frame. c 1910. Born Valledolmo, Sicily on May 20, 1889. Barone was a pupil of DuMond, Mora, Bridgman, and Chase at the ASL in NYC. Active in NYC from 1917, he appears to have divided his time between the East and West Coasts.
