A pair of framed woodblock prints titled "Tokaido Road Series" by Ando Hiroshige depicting different landscapes and post stations of Japan. Labeled on the back, "43 Kuwana", "40 Chiryu", these are two out of 53 Tokaido Road stations.

Ando Hiroshige (1797-1858), born Ando Tokutaro, was a master of the Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print tradition. He is widely considered the last great master of this genre, known for transforming it with his focus on poetic, ambient landscapes rather than the typical subjects of beautiful women and actors.
