Helmut Newton left France in 1981 to reside in Monaco, he captured the capital city of Monte Carlo with some of his most recognizable and erotically charged images. His rare departure from the female nude produced striking images that starkly contrasted his norm. "Fat Hand with Dollars" pays homage to the glitz and glamour of the historic seaside town known for its extravagance and excess.

Provenance

This collection of vintage prints were gifted to Newton's agent Norman Solomon, in recognition of the work he had performed producing the "Private Property" collection and promoting a series of exhibitions in London, Paris, New York, and Los Angeles in 1985. The collection was legally transferred to Solomon in 1986 via written agreement and further ratified in legal settlement in 2012 with the Helmut Newton Estate and Foundation in the Superior Court of Los Angeles, California, and recorded in the United States Copyright Office. This vintage print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Norman Solomon that details his ownership rights and authenticity supported by legal agreement.
