Description
This Georges Victor Froidevaux (Swiss, 1911 to 1968) painting is created in oil on heavy, smooth paper or cardboard and is primarily in cool blue tones. The winter scene shows a man walking past a green bench, on a red brick path, in a snowy riverfront park. It is signed lower right, "Gil Froidevaux" as he often did. On the back of the painting, the number, "39" is written in pencil on the lower right corner which is most likely the year the painting was created. It is in excellent vintage condition. There is an area on the upper right corner where the paint does not meet the edge; this is NOT damage to the paper. There are tape marks from previous framings on the reverse. Dimensions are 18.5" W x 13.5" H. This item will be shipped flat with a double mat and backing, extending the item's dimensions to 24.25"W x 18.34"H.
