Raffaele Monti was a sculptor, author and poet. One of Monti's specialties was being able to give the illusion of transparent fabric in solid marble. This piece was made following the great success of the well-known Veiled Bride. It shows again the skill that Monti had in portraying the effect of veiled figures.
It is in great vintage condition.
