Tiffany Studios: The Nicoll Family Memorial 'Calvary' Leaded and Plated Glass Window for St. Thomas' Church, New Windsor, New York

Signed Tiffany Studios, New York; inscribed 'There is a green hill far away, without a city wall. Where the dear Lord was crucified, Who died to save us all. In memoriam Leonard Francis Nicoll M.D., Born Nov. 3rd 1876 * Died Nov. 25th 1906'; together with a later metal stand.The window 62 x 28 in., 64 1/2 x 29 3/4 in. (frame).

Originally sited in the former St. Thomas' Church in New Windsor, New York. Sold to support the Episcopal Diocese of New York's ministry in Orange County.

CONDITION REPORT: Wear consistent with age and use. Several panels with significant cracking at lower right corner. A few smaller panels with minor cracking throughout. A small portion of the leading in the lower right corner has been replaced. Two minor areas of separation between glass and leading. The frame overpainted. Separated from casement frame which has degraded with rust and encrustations, warped at bottom. Otherwise in good condition. Notwithstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
