The urn is made in a wonderful classical form, with ornate floral decoration and full figural cherubs around the base. The lid is done in a pierced openwork form, great for potpourri. The finial of the lid is particularly intricate, done in the form of roses and other flowers and fruit, once again fully rendered in three dimensional detail. The quality is exceptional, as you'd expect from Meissen. This piece is in great overall condition, particularly for the age and material. The kneeling cherub is missing the tip of one foot. The finial has some chips to the very top, and there are some other chips to flower petals and leaves here and there, as you'd expect, but overall this delicate decoration is in exceptionally good shape. There are some firing lines in the glaze which are original to the making of the piece and are not cracks, visible in the interior of the foot. Please view all photos carefully, as well as the video at the bottom! There are no other chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The underside is signed with the Meissen crossed swords mark in blue, as well as an incised number 192. This piece stands about 13 inches to the top of the lid, or about 8 inches to the rim, and measures about 8 3/4 inches from handle to handle.
