The bowls are a soft fresh spring green color and have an elegant scalloped texture around the rim as well as raised gilt scrollwork decoration, for a nice tactile element. The wide rims are beautifully hand painted with colorful and realistic flowers and foliage, no two bowls exactly alike in their colors or what plants they depict. These bowls have a shallow interior well and wide, flat rim. This set of bowls is in great overall condition. The gilding and painted decoration are in great shape. One bowl has a tiny nick to the rim. One bowl has two small chips to the upper side of the rim, and a shallow chip to the underside of the rim. Occasional losses to the green around the interior well, as you see from pieces being stored in a stack. There are some natural variations in the colors of the bowls, as these are hand decorated pieces. No other chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The bowls are stamped with the Haviland & Co Limoges France mark in green. Each bowl measures about 9 inches in diameter.
