You do not want to miss this authentic work from William Morris, the master of blown glass. William Morris (b. 1957) was born in Carmel, California. Morris, a glass artist, was a gaffer for Dale Chihuly early in his career. He has collaborated with artists like Ross Richmond, Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen, Jon Ormbrek, Rik Allen, Randy Walker and Trumaine Mason. Morris has traveled worldwide working with glass masters and teaching workshops and demonstrations. Since 1987, Morris has been a student, gaffer, teacher, and resident artist at Pilchuck Glass School in Washington. In addition to these, he was Artistic Director in 1991and member of the Board of Directors in 1992. Today he is considered one of the most talented and creative glass artists in the world. Morris has always been intrigued by archeology, ancient civilizations and cave dwellings. These interests reign as themes throughout his glass works, like in his ever popular Stonehenge series. This fondness for the past in history is developed upon Morris's bond with the environment and nature. Morris has taken what he learned from Chihuly, other Italian glassblowers and his concept of nature to create a style that is all his own and second to none. The texture, color and shape Morris combines to form his spectacular glass works is an innovative creation and hence why his art can be found at the Met, Louvre and countless other museums.
