The antique 1889 Asa Straight slip roller is a highly collectible piece of 19th-century blacksmithing or tinsmithing machinery. These manual, hand-cranked tools utilize a three-roll system designed to pinch, pull, and curve sheet metal into uniform cylinders, cones, or tubes
Three-Roller System : It features two front clamping rollers that grip and pull the sheet metal, and an adjustable rear forming roller that forces the metal to curve upward
Slip Roll Function : The top roller is engineered to unlatch, swing out, or slide out entirely. This critical feature allows you to cleanly slide out a fully formed metal tube or cylinder without warping it
