Commissioned by Chemins de fer de l'Est and printed by the prestigious Affiches Camis, Paris, this circa 1897 chromolithograph captures the romantic spirit of turn-of-the-century travel with a serene allegorical figure draped in flowing white robes, gazing over the mountainous valley town and a rendering of the spa itself in the lower left quadrant.

D'Alesi was one of the premier poster artists of the Art Nouveau era, known for his painterly technique and lush, idyllic scenes used to encourage railway tourism across France. His works remain among the most sought-after examples of early 20th-century French poster art.
