Description
Pair of six-sided hand-forged iron and glass lanterns from Paul Ferrante's 4000 Series, dated 2007.
Thes llanterns feature a richly textured stone-like patina with gilt acanthus leaves at each corner, six gilt feet at the base, and a gilt acanthus flower finial at the crown. Each side measures approximately 8" wide x 21" high, forming a 13" diameter body beneath six trapezoidal beveled-glass panes (4" x 8" x 7" high) that create the upper crown.
The top is open, while all sides and the base are fully glazed.
The overall height is 47" to the top of the lantern where the chain begins. The crown measures roughly 8.5" in diameter and 14" high to the suspension loop. There are approximately 15" from the top of the lantern to the matching 6" diameter canopy, and each chain link measures 2". Inside are six candelabra sockets (E12 base) fitted for 1" diameter x 7" high candle sleeves, each resting on a hand-gilded star-form bobèche.
Not currently tested but worked properly when removed. Suitable for dry locations only. Originally hung over a dining table, stunning over a kitchen island, counter, powder or hall.
