Description
Still Waiting is a study on the endurance of hope and the persistence of the human spirit through the passage of time. This work completes the narrative diptych begun in Waiting for Tomorrow, shifting the dialogue from the cool, expansive uncertainty of youth to the warm, heavy atmosphere of maturity. The painting captures a man in the "evening" of his journey, set against a dramatic, fiery sunset where vibrant oranges and deep shadows represent a lifetime of lived experiences. Despite the closing of the day, the figure remains in a posture of quiet vigil, suggesting that to hope is an enduring state rather than a fleeting impulse.
In this concluding work, the horizon, once a distant blue promise in its counterpart"”has transformed into a burning reality. I explore the philosophical idea that "Tomorrow" is not a physical destination we eventually reach, but a continuous state of mind. The subject is not defeated by the passage of time; instead, he acts as a sentinel of expectation.
