Additional Description: This photograph on Agfa Pro paper was the “safety print” from the Print Collection of the Miriam & Ira Wallach Division of Art, Prints and Photographs of the New York Public Library. It was later acquired in 1996 by Baseball Americana Collection of St. Louis, Missouri, then later in to the private collection of Bobby O’Neill in 2002. This image is universally recognized as the premier 1860’s baseball image, as well as being one of the earliest color renditions featuring baseball as a subject.
