Richly figured mahogany veneers and large carved lion-paw front feet preserve the architectural weight of the American Classical tradition while the quatrefoils and arches anticipate the emerging Gothic Revival.Dimensions: 43.5 in. Condition: Retains an older cleaned or repolished surface with scattered scratches, abrasions, shrinkage, veneer cracking, separations, and old repairs. A prominent vertical veneer crack and localized loss or repair are visible near the upper-right corner of the case. Additional wear is present to the drawer edges, cabinet interior, and carved feet. Brass knobs are later replacements, with evidence of earlier hardware attachment. Marble exhibits expected surface wear and minor edge imperfections.
