Up for auction is a Luxembourg Contract Fabrique Nationale FN-49 semi-automatic rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. This rifle retains the original FN-49 military configuration and features all visible numbers appearing to match, with the exception of the serial number on the stock, which does not match the rifle. The stock is in excellent condition with only a few light handling marks, while maintaining its original military appearance and character. The rifle features a very good metal finish overall, with scratches present on the magazine and trigger guard from handling and use. The bore is good and shiny with strong rifling, and mechanical operation is good. No visible import marks are present on the rifle.

The FN-49 was Fabrique Nationales first widely adopted semi-automatic military rifle and was produced for a variety of international military contracts. Luxembourg Contract FN-49 rifles are identified by their association with Luxembourg military service and represent one of the less commonly encountered national variations of the FN-49 family. Collectors examine these rifles closely for original configuration, matching components, condition, and contract-specific characteristics. This example retains desirable features including its .30-06 Springfield chambering, strong bore condition, excellent stock, and absence of visible import markings.
