This example features a bright, excellent bore with sharp, reflective rifling and retains good mechanical function. The stock remains in good condition with honest handling marks accumulated through years of use and is stamped "G.33" on the left side near the butt. The upper handguard exhibits a long hairline crack with evidence of an attempted repair, while the metal finish remains in good condition with honest wear consistent with handling and service use. The rifle bears serial number 224650. The cleaning rod is not present.

The Gustloff Werke KKW, officially designated the Klein Kaliber Wehrsportgewehr, was developed as a precision training rifle to familiarize youth organizations and military trainees with the operation and handling characteristics of the standard Karabiner 98k while utilizing economical .22 Long Rifle ammunition.
