Vintage original 1950s Korean War-era reversible satin souvenir jacket, measuring 22.25" x 21.5". The dark maroon satin side features two embroidered orange and pink dragon emblems on the chest, with two side pockets accented by white arrow designs extending from each pocket. The white sleeves feature a red and white striped ribbed collar, waistband, and sleeve cuffs. The back displays a large embroidered map of Korea outlined in orange, with “Korea” embroidered above in orange script. The map includes the names of several cities in white and pink, surrounded by small white floral and decorative motifs, with a large colorful tiger embroidered at the top center. The reverse dark blue and yellow satin side features two embroidered eagle emblems on the chest, with yellow side pockets. The yellow sleeves feature blue and white striped ribbed collar, waistband, and sleeve cuffs. The back features a large embroidered eagle in brown, white, and orange perched on a branch surrounded by floral blossoms, with “Korea” embroidered above in white script. In good condition, with several signs of scattered wear consistent with age and use, including damage to the side pockets, separation of stitching at the left armpit, small holes and wear throughout the collar, waistband, and sleeve cuffs, and brown staining to the white portions of the sleeves. A sought-after example of a mid-20th-century Korean souvenir jacket, likely associated with U.S. military personnel stationed in Korea during the Korean War era. Charles "Chip" Rachlin (1949–2023) built a distinguished career in the music and entertainment industry spanning more than five decades. His passion for live music began as a teenager promoting concerts while attending Summit High School before joining legendary concert promoter Bill Graham at the Fillmore East. Mentored by industry executive Herb Spar, Rachlin later joined ICM in Los Angeles, where he became Billy Joel's first booking agent while also representing artists including the Eagles, the Beach Boys, America, and many others. Rachlin later managed The Kinks before reuniting with Bill Graham as tour administrator for the Rolling Stones' landmark 1981 and 1982 tours. During the early years of MTV, he served as Director of Acquisitions before founding his own production company, Screenlink, where he continued consulting for and managing artists throughout the entertainment industry. Drawn from Chip Rachlin's personal archive, this collection reflects a lifetime spent at the center of the music business. Featured throughout are vintage concert T-shirts, music industry sales awards, vintage concert posters—including several original Bill Graham concert posters—behind-the-scenes photographs, original documents, and other artifacts accumulated over decades in the industry.
