Finely hand-modeled from a highly porous, low-fired earthenware clay, this expressive human head fragment likely originated as the prominent terminal element of a ritual figural vessel. The figure features a serene facial expression framed by heavy ear ornaments, surmounted by a wide, monumental headdress, decorated in a classic four-color geometric scheme using rich red, brown, black, and white mineral slips. Mounted on a marble slab.
