This charming little oil painting on canvas by New Hampshire regional artist Clay Kanzler (b. 1952) depicts an evening by the train tracks with the light of a locomotive approaching from the distance. There is a white farm house on the right side with a light in a window. It is a winter scene with traces of an early snowfall next to the railroad tracks. The painting is unsigned, but it has an original gallery tag identifying the artist on the back. The gold frame is original to the piece.
