Two vibrant original watercolors by Peter Max, still in their gallery frames, were purchased as a pair in 1999 by an owner of Clover's Cottage.
Ready to hang in that perfect spot or add flair to any collection, this colorful duo brings joy and light to any room.
Each piece is mounted for a 3D suspended effect, with a gap framing the artwork to showcase its uninterrupted color, while a white-on-white mat makes the hues pop.
"Sailboat" measures 3" x 4" and "Purple Head" measures 3" x 3.75", with inventory and painting details on the back.
The paintings were acquired by the owner of Clover's Cottage at a gallery opening in New Orleans that Mr. Max personally attended, that evening, after a warm and lively chat about his work, Mr. Max personally inscribed each piece, "To Steve, Love Max," making them a treasured possession creating a direct link between the artist and only owner for the last 26 years. They have been part of Clover's Cottage's private collection ever since.
