This is a sensitive portrait of an adult male, painted in the expressionist style typical of Mid-Century art. Done in oil and tones of Prussian blues, cream, tan and apricot.
Expressive brushstrokes convey emotion and a sensitivity that seems to reinforce the position of a lawmaker.
Framed in a beautiful wooden double frame, to outside dimensions of 52" x 26" x 3.5" thickness.
Good vintage condition. Some damage to the dust cover on the back.

The artist, Myrtle Posner (1917 - 1967) was active/lived in California. Myrtle Posner is known for Abstract and non-objective landscape, floral, still life, and figure painting.
