Description
Here's a beautiful large scale oil on canvas painting by noted artist Florence Winn (1928-2023), Upstate New York artist and co-founder of Adirondack Art Association Gallery in Essex, New York. She is known for her mountainous landscapes in the Adirondacks and Helderbergs, but this was a piece she created when she spent time in the Southwest in the 1970s. There's true nostaglia in the figures of a lone rancher herding his sheep. The other figure appears to be native to the area. Colors exude the desert washed in sunlight. The scale and artistry of this piece lends itself to any number of gallery settings.
