Alexander Clayton american artist, born in Maryland. Graduated from the Concoran School of Art in Washington DC, where he was the pupil of Richard S. Meryman, Burtis Baker and Eugene Weisz. His studies also included techniques of Old masters in France, Spain,Portugal.
This is a painting made from antique painting of Doctor Sappington (1811). He was a phisician and founded the Maryland Medical Society, father of 7 children.
