RARE Chinese Famille Verte porcelain lidded box in the shape of a nesting Quail (Qing 1644-1911).
The detailed feathers are in light relief and are hand painted in enamel colors of yellow, green, blue and purple. The insides are finished in turquoise while the underside remains unglazed. The bases show the feet of the bird. Both pieces are marked.

Such an interesting detail of these OLD pieces.

One does have two chips on the interior lip (see pic). This does not affect the functionality of the box. Top sits properly and is secure. Cannot see the chips unless you take the top off.

Each measuring 7" wide, 4.25" deep and 4-1/8" high.
