PAIR Spode Imari Dollar Pattern, Oval Porcelain Plates, Regency, ca 1810. Design is a classic Japanese-inspired Imari pattern, strong colors, light wear on one rim, one flea small bite- does not show as much from top view as bottom view.They measure 11" x 8 ". Rare to find as a pair.
(Ancient Chinese motifs influenced English designers of Spode's "Dollar" pattern; however, Western consumers interpreted the $ pattern
as being a dollar sign, hence the name "Dollar Pattern.)
