This pretty lacquer basket with an overhead handle has a floral shape and the different lobe show off the individual flowers expressed by the mother of pearl inlaids. The large flowers on the cover are especially well done. The interior is done in red lacquer. Dating is Jiaqing Daoguang period, mid 19 century. The diameter is 7 inches and the height is 11.5 inches.
CONDITION
A small crack has developed on the cover near the inlaid rose petals and has been restored, It is also visible from the underside, otherwise the basket is in good condition. See photo 9
